The Great Game. British Lion and Russian Bear British Empire and Russian Empire were trying to control Central Asia and Afghanistan  was one of the most important places of this conflict.  This cartoon by Sir John Tenniel ( English illustrator, graphic humourist and political cartoonist ) tells us about the situation of the local rulers during "The Great Game"  years. What did Swami Vivekananda Teach Us?

Those who have been interested in yoga for a while or longer already knew about this name. " Swami Vivekananda " was in India and lived between 1863-1902. He was an Indian Hindu monk and chief disciple of the 19th-century saint Ramakrishna. He was a key figure in the introduction of the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world. He is credited with raising interfaith awareness, bringing Hinduism to the status of a major world religion during the late 19th century.

BUDDHAGUPTA STONE

What is  Budhagupta Stone? Budhagupta was a Gupta emperor.  He had close ties with the rulers of Kannauj kingdom and together they sought to rule the Huns out of the fertile plains of Northern India. This is a replica of Buddhagupta stone ( the original one was found in Seberang Perai, Malaysia and is kept in the National Museum, Calcutta, India ) on display at the National History Museum, Kuala Lumpur. The inscription refers to the reign of Budhagupta and it is dated A.D. 484-485.

Historical Map of The Crusades, Routes and The Cities The First Crusade  (1096-1099) started from two different main gathering locations. First one was in France . They marched through Rome, Bari, Greece, Constantinople (Istanbul) and Antioch. The second was in Germany.  The Second Crusade (1147-1150)   started in north of Italy . They marched through Austria, Hungary, Belgrade, Sofia and  Constantinople. They changed the direction from that point. Nobody was expecting it though.  The Third Crusade (1189-1192) started from Marseille and Genoa. They sailed the entire Mediterranean Sea (through Sicily, Rhodes, Cyprus and arrived in Jerusalem. The Fourth Crusade (1202-1204) the planned route was a bit complicated. They had to change it several times.  Some of the old cities on the route with modern names are: Dyrrachion ( Albania ), Adrianople ( Edirne ), Nicaea ( Iznik ) , Dorylaion (  Şarhöyük, Eskisehir ),  Antioch ( Antakya ),  Edesa ( Urfa ) , Acre ( Akko or Akka ) Rela

This is Roman Empire after 285 A.D The Empire was divided East-West. Western Provinces :  Diocese of Britain, Diocese of Gaul, Diocese of Spain, Diocese of Italy , Africa and Rome. East Roman's Provinces :  Diocese of Dacia, Dioese of Thrace, Egypt , Asia, Diocese of Pontus and Macedonia Ancient Circle Stones in Scotland. The Callanish Stones  are an arrangement of standing stones placed in a cruciform pattern with a central stone circle. They were erected in the late Neolithic era, and were a focus for ritual activity during the Bronze Age. They are near the village of Callanish on the west coast of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides, Scotland
